Since the December 2016, the Taiwanese company First Steamship has become the principal shareholder of Summit Ascent, a key investor in the casino Tigre de Cristal. According to the managers of the entertainment complex, the new leadership sees a perspective in the development of tourism in the Primorsky Territory.

We have already discussed plans for investing in regional tourism projects that are not related to gambling activities», said SAHL Executive Director Eric Landheer.

In his opinion, the development of the «non-game sector» would significantly increase the interest of tourists to the whole region.

«We believe that the strategy of Taiwan's partners in the development of «non-game facilities» will increase the attractiveness of Primorsky Krai as a place of mass recreation for guests from countries of South-East Asia. First of all, the company plans to create hotels and a chain of brand stores. Also, the shareholder is considering the possibility of creating large-scale facilities on the territory of the resort «Primorye», using the best models from the world practice of the entertainment industry», added Erik Landheer.

What kind of entertainment objects the future Taiwanese investor plans to build in the future is not specified in the message. However, casino executive director Stelianos Tsifetakis noted that the management of the Taiwanese company First Steamship is planning to visit Vladivostok in the near future and discuss its further plans with the curators of the project.

Earlier, the direction of Summit Ascent Holdings Limited confirmed the intention to open a second phase facility in the Primorsky Territory. As reported in the Primorsky Krai Development Corporation, it is planned that the second phase will be a hotel and entertainment complex for 500 rooms with an area of 100 thousand square meters. It is planned to create a shopping center, a food court, restaurants and bars, and facilities for conferences and banquets have been built. More than 2,000 jobs will be created. Additional parking spaces will be created on the territory of the facility. The facility will be located next to the operating casino, and they will be combined by a viaduct for the convenience of the guests. The amount of investments will be 500 million US dollars.

According to the director of the Primorsky Territory Tourism Department Konstantin Shestakov, the creation of new world-class infrastructure in the region is one of the key factors for the tourist industry development of the region.

«The integrated entertainment resort «Primorye» is the most ambitious tourist project in the Far East. The total building area at the first stage is 263 hectares, the zone of perspective development is 365 hectares. At the moment, new projects of two residents are being systematically implemented - construction works will be actively conducted in the next two years. The synergetic effect from their creation will bring a great positive effect both for the project and for the region», said Konstantin Shestakov.

At the moment on the territory of the gambling area, in addition to the existing complex with the casino Tigre de Cristal, two more major gambling and entertainment facilities are being created: a hotel complex with a casino «Selena» (a group of Russian companies, Diamond Fortune Holdings Prim), and a hotel complex with aquapark and casino «Naga Vladivostok» (Cambodian company Naga Corp Ltd.).
